Capcom classic, Okami, is going HD and a release date has now been announced…

We’ve known about the HD remake of the wonderful Zelda clone, Okami, for a while now, but an actual release window was missing from the picture. Well, this is no longer the case.

Okami HD, which will be exclusive to the PlayStation 3 via PSN, will arrive on October 30, as confirmed at the Tokyo Game Show. The game will cost around $20, and will not only feature HD visuals supporting full 1080p, but will also be playable with the PlayStation Move controller.

As the game features the ability to actually draw in real-time, a skill used to create and affect items in the world, as well as for combat, the inclusion of Move is a no-brainer, and should make for the best version of the title yet.

Okami was originally released for the PlayStation 2, and was a superb nod to the Triforce-packing Nintendo title, and was then re-released on the Wii, which added motion controls. Sadly, although the Wii version was an improvement over the PS2 original, the motion controls weren’t as solid as they should have been.

Hopefully, the PlayStation 3’s more accurate Move technology will improve on this, and along with the HD visuals, help get the game noticed by more gamers, something that the game has, unfortunately, failed to do thus far.
