Richard LaGravenese built up a real pedigree as a screenwriter before he directed his first big feature film. Screenplays such as The Fisher King, The Ref, A Little Princess and The Bridges Of Madison Country are all on his list of credits, and then he finally made his directorial bow with the impressive comedy drama, Living Out Loud.
Since then, he’s directed again a couple of times, and also penned several more scripts. And then there’s the small matter of Beautiful Creatures, his new film that he’s serving as writer and director on. Based on the novel by Margaret Stohl and Kami Garcia, Beautiful Creatures is billed as a supernatural love story.
But wait! Come back! Twilight this isn’t. LaGravenese has attracted an interesting cast that includes Emma Thompson, Jeremy Irons, Alden Ehrenreich, Alice Englert and Viola Davis. And on the basis of the trailer that’s been released, this might just be worth keeping an eye on.
