There are a couple of ways to discover the title of an upcoming movie sequel these days. You can wait for the announcement, someone can uncover it, or you watch out for interesting domain name registrations. In the case of what we're about to talk about, it's the latter two methods that have stuck oil. So to speak.
TrekMovie initially broke the story, though, citing their usually excellent sources on such matters. And it revealed that the new Star Trek film, being put together by JJ Abrams and his team, will be called Star Trek Into Darkness (without a colon, it appears). This has then been backed up by domain name registrations that appear to corroborate the story.
Paramount is yet to confirm the news, but when it does, we'll pass the information on.
UPDATE: Trek Movie is now confirming that this will indeed be the film's name.
