The Call of Juarez series started out as a very promising FPS, with a couple of decent Wild West-themed outings, but almost came crashing down in flames when the awful third release, Call of Juarez: The Cartel was universally torn to shreds.
Ubisoft has now seen the error of its ways, and the next game in the series, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, is returning the license to the dusty streets and lawless expanse of the Old West.
As a tough-as-old-leather bounty hunter, Gunsliger will task players with hunting down the most notorious criminals from America's history, and, presumably, it’ll feature many of the features from the previous games, hopefully without the awful visual glitches, poor acting and shoddy gameplay of the third title.
Not many details have been released thus far, but you’ll find the announcement trailer below.
Call of Juarez: Gunslinger will be released as a downloadable title on Xbox 360 via Xbox Live, PlayStation 3 via PSN and PC in the first quarter of 2013.
