As it continues to bring in no shortage of cash in cinemas around the world, attention is nonetheless slowly turning as to when Christopher Nolan's final Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises, is heading to DVD and Blu-ray. And we might just have the first hint of an answer.
Amazon Germany is generally one of the first to go live with a release date, and it's now got both the DVD and Blu-ray of The Dark Knight Rises up for pre-order. The artwork isn't finalised, but the site is listing Friday 30th November 2012 as when to expect the film. That's not generally used as a holding date for Amazon Germany either, which tends to use 28th December as a list date for titles where it's not got a firm release date hammered down.
Friday isn't a traditional day to release a DVD/Blu-ray into the world, granted, but Warner Bros has made high profile exceptions in the past. The other rumoured date that has been doing the rounds is Friday 7th December, but Amazon Germany is the first shopping site we've seen that's officially come forward with any date.
Until a formal announcement is forthcoming, then a bit of salt is required, of course. We'll be keeping you posted, though...
