Shooting is set to start in September on Kick-Ass 2, with director Jeff Wadlow taking over from Matthew Vaughn (Vaughn remains involved, though, but his commitments to the X-Men: First Class sequel mean he can't direct this time around, but he's given Wadlow his blessing).
We know already that Aaron Johnson is back in the title role, and also reprising their parts to various degrees are Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Nicolas Cage.
Joining the cast this time around? John Leguizamo has signed up to play Javier (the butler to Mintz-Plasse's Red Mist), while Donald Faison will be playing Doctor Gravity. War Horse's Robert Emms has been cast as Insect Man, while Morris Chestnut will tackle the part of Marcus Williams, the guardian to Hit-Girl.
Furthermore, we now know when to expect the film, too. Kick-Ass 2 has been given a release date in the US of June 28th 2013 by Universal. In the UK, the movie currently has a July 19th 2013 release slot.
