We'd almost forgotten the remake of Red Dawn existed. Originally shot in 2009, the film's fraught history is well documented; initially delayed due to MGM's lack of cash in its coffers, Red Dawn was then delayed further when it inadvertently insulted China.
Accused of spreading "fear and doubt" about the country, Red Dawn's makers were then forced to nip back and change all Chinese flags and symbols to North Korean ones – a process costing something like a million dollars and pushing the film's release yet further into the future.
Now, Red Dawn's back, as these new images, which plopped unexpectedly into our inbox this morning, conclusively prove. They depict a very smooth-skinned Chris Hemsworth (Thor himself) and Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games) waving guns about, along with another young chap in a hat [that's Josh Peck - Ed].
Our favourite thing about these two pictures? The deceased soldier, lying face down, the brim of his hat at a precise 90 degree angle to the ground. War truly is an ugly thing.
Red Dawn's scheduled for release in November in the US, with a UK release yet to be revealed. All together now, "Avenge me, boys! Avenge meeee!"
