Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim is shaping up to be one of next summer’s finest blockbusters, and ahead of its Comic-Con panel next week Entertainment Weekly has revealed a new image from the film, which gives us a look at two key characters. Here’s the pic:
The image shows Charlie Hunnam and Rinko Kikuchi, who play the unlikely heroes of the film. They are a washed up former pilot and an untested trainee, who have the task of raising a former great but now obsolete Jaeger (a massive robot) to defend the Earth from a band of monstrous creatures who have waged war on humans, in a quest to relieve the planet of its natural resources.
Pacific Rim is scheduled for release on the 12th July 2013 and we’ll bring you more news on the film as and when we get it.
