Crikey. It had been speculated that the running time for Christopher Nolan's final Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, would be long. But as it turns out, it's even longer than the previous entry, The Dark Knight, which clocked in at just over two and a half hours.
The official classification for the film has come in now from the BBFC, which has awarded the movie a 12A certificate in the UK (it's our PG-13, so no surprises there), and it's also confirmed that the final running time of the movie is 164 minutes and 27 seconds. Or: nearly two and three quarter hours.
Yikes.
That said, The Dark Knight's long runtime breezed by, and we highly suspect the same will the case here. There's little doubt that Christopher Nolan is trying to give you your money's worth. But you still might want to get some padding for your backside. And try not to sit behind the person who keeps wanting the toilet...
The Dark Knight Rises is released on 20th July 2012.
