The potential WoW killer that is Guild wars 2 looks like it could well and truly make a big splash in the MMORPG universe, and fans are understandably excited to finally get their hands on the much-delayed, finished version of the popular online role player’s sequel.
Well, thanks to this short teaser, we now have a release date for the game, and it’s set to arrive on August 28 on the PC, so only a couple of months are left to wait until social lives around the globe are devastated in favour on some online adventuring, and girlfriends and wives become MMORPG widows.
Guild Wars 2 is set some 250 years after the original game, and whilst players cannot carry over characters from the first game, there’ no shortage of reason to be cheerful. The game is running on a heavily modified version of the Guild Wars engine, and the level cap of a lowly level 20 has been raised to a whopping 80 this time around.
Players will be able to choose from five races, each with the usual assortment of RPG-like skills and abilities, and the game will feature PvP combat that allows up to 400 people to scrap it out, which should make for some epic online magic slinging and sword sinking. So, have a look at the teaser below, and start sharpening that battle axe in preparation.
