Production is set to begin imminently on Iron Man 3, the first Marvel movie post-The Avengers. Shane Black is directing this time around, with Robert Downey Jr reprising the title role, in exchange for some money. Quite a lot of money, we'd wager.
Anyway, most pieces of the cast are sliding into place. We already know that Sir Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce and Rebecca Hall are set to join up. But the latest piece of casting news adds another face to the mix.
James Badge Dale, reports Deadline, is set to play Savin in the new movie. Badge Dale has just come off working on The Lone Ranger movie, also due out in 2013, and also popped up in Shame and The Grey earlier in the year.
As for the character of Savin? Well, look away if you really don't want to know his comic background. If you're still here, then Eric Savin starts off as a Lieutenant Colonel in the army. He temporarily dies, however, when he steps on a landmine, and is only brought back to life thanks to a lot of surgery, and cybernetics. From that point on, he becomes Coldblood.
How much of that story makes the movie is unclear, but we will, of course, keep you posted.
