World-ending details have been revealed about the upcoming online FPS, Survarium…
Vostok Games, the team of ex-S.T.A.L.K.E.R. developers has released some details about its upcoming post-apocalyptic MMOFPS, Survarium via Facebook. The game, which was announced earlier this week, will bear many hallmarks of the Chernobyl-based PC classic, but will also be its own beast too.
Taking place after a world-altering event, the game is set to be an online only, MMOFPS, and it'll have no singleplayer or offline component. It'll be a heavily story-driven game, and will see players roam the wastelands, tackling mutants and other abominations both above and below ground. RPG elements will ensure players are absorbed into the grim world, and combat will make use of realistic ballistics.
The world will also be littered with all sorts of hazards, such as S.T.A.L.K.E.R-style anomalies, and you'll experience varied relations with the various factions thanks to a reputation system. It's also been confirmed that all quests will be hand made, not randomly generated, and that the game won't be an large open world, but a grouping of smaller session-based areas, with more areas being released in future.
So far, there's an awful lot of similarities to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. present in the game, but here that's a very good thing, and if fans can't have S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, then this is clearly the next best thing. And, the free-to-play nature of the game can only help make the title even more desirable. We'll bring you more news as we get it.
