A director has been chosen, the script appears to be done, and formal news on Kick-Ass 2 is expected shortly…
There’s a veil of secrecy still over the planned Kick-Ass 2 movie, with no word on a director. But, according to Mark Millar, the project is very much full steam ahead.
Millar took to the Millarworld Forums to answer questions, and inevitably, the subject of Kick-Ass 2 came up. “Kick-Ass 2 films this summer”, he confirmed. “I expect there will be an announcement of some sort in the next week”.
He went on to confirm that “Matthew [Vaughn] is co-writing and producing, Kick-Ass being a labour of love for him. He selected the perfect director last year and we're very, very happy. Trust him... he knows what he's doing.”
Vaughn, who directed the first film, has since committed to make another X-Men: First Class movie, hence he’s not calling the shots on Kick-Ass 2. It sounds like we’ll be finding out who will be very shortly, though.
We’ll pass on the news as we get it…!
