New trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation

From what we’ve seen of G.I. Joe: Retaliation thus far, it’s a more purer action film than its muddled predecessor. This time, the reins have been handed over to writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Rheese, and director Jon M Chu, and they’ve put together a story that manages to get most of the original Joes out of the way fairly quickly.

With the handful of returnees and new faces, that means we get a cast that includes The Rock, Bruce Willis, Ray Stevenson, Jonathan Pryce (having another stab at a sort-of villain, after Tomorrow Never Dies), Ray Park, Adrianne Palicki and Channing Tatum.

We’ve seen a presentation of further footage than you get in this new trailer, and it’s fair to say it follows the same pattern: action sequences where you can see what’s actually happening.

Seeming positioning itself, then, as the purest action movie of the summer (although The Expendables 2 will probably have an argument or two there), here’s the new trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation (which doesn’t make it to the UK until August).
