One of Den Of Geek’s most anticipated sci-fi movies of 2012 gets a teaser trailer. Gentle reader, feast your eyes on the first footage from Rian Johnson’s Looper…
As regular visitors to this site will already know, we compiled a list of our 10 most anticipated sci-fi movies of 2012 late last year. So far, Chronicle, John Carter and (whisper it, since our review won't be along for a few days yet) Lockout have all more than lived up to our expectations, and we’re still anxiously waiting to see whether Cloud Atlas, Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity or Ridley Scott’s Prometheus can give us the genre thrills we’re hoping for.
Director Rian Johnson’s Looper was another film on our most anticipated list – partially because he’s the talent behind Brick and The Brothers Bloom, but also because its mind-bending, time-warping plot sounds so intriguing, and finally because its cast features Joseph Gordon-Levitt and the none-more-macho Bruce Willis. Shane Carruth (the writer/director/maniac behind Primer) is behind the plot, which involves mobsters and time crimes in a Twelve Monkeys/La Jetée-style thriller, which makes Looper a kind of 70s rock super group of a movie as far as we’re concerned.
At any rate, the first snippet of footage from the film can be found below, and a full trailer’s expected to follow later this week. Naturally, we’ll be posting that one on these gilded pages too.
