Jason Statham starts work on a new film next week. We thought you'd like to read about it.
Let’s end the week with news of a new Jason Statham film. We know that, statistically, 68.4% of our readers like Jason Statham films, and our very own Duncan Bowles is making it his business to seek out the other 31.6% on a one by one basis, to show them his special Powerpoint presentation.
The Statham, who is heading to our screens in the next month or two in Safe, is starting shooting his latest production on Monday. It’s called Hummingbird, and it’s being directed by Steven Knight, who’s making his directorial debut. Knight previously penned the script for Eastern Promises.
The film is an action-thriller, which will star The Statham as “a veteran haunted by a traffic past who assumes the identity of an upper class Londoner”.
Statham as an upper-class Londoner? This gets better.
Anyway, his character’s girlfriend is found dead, and he has to stop hiding from his past, and go on the hunt for those responsible. Key ingredients? Not much hair on his head, a gruff voice, and a gun. Marvellous.
More on Hummingbird, which has been picked up by Lionsgate for distribution, when we get it. And long live Statham.
Oh, actually, one more thing. It’s traditional on Jason Statham-related stories to post one or other of these comments, to help Duncan work out who he needs to see on his rounds.
So please copy and paste one of these for your comment. It’ll save us all time:
“Statham! Yes!”
“Can. Not. Wait.”
“I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. I don’t get this site’s obsession with Jason Statham”
