The minions are back, causing as much mayhem as always, in the first Despicable Me 2 teaser trailer…
It’s a somewhat predictable maiden trailer for Despicable Me 2, this. The first film was particularly notable for the brilliant minions, who were used sparingly, and consequently, had real impact. The danger with the sequel is to overuse them, in the way the Ice Age movies gradually did with Scrat. We won’t find out until summer 2013 if Despicable Me 2 has done that.
For now, and it’s hard to grumble about this, the minions take centre stage for the first teaser trailer for the film. We won’t get to see anything in the way of footage from the movie itself for a while yet. But heck, the minions are good, and they’ll more than do for now.
Despicable Me 2 will arrive in the summer of 2013.
