Joss Whedon’s newly dubbed Avengers Assemble has a lovely new trailer for you to watch. You can do so within...
Whatever you make of the decision to change the name of The Avengers to Avengers Assemble in the UK - and we’ve already read numerous Twitter comments that it sounds like a Power Rangers movie, or that the Marvel heroes have bought some flat-pack furniture from Ikea - that doesn’t dampen our enthusiasm for the film itself.
Neither does the splendid new trailer enclosed below, which hints at all the things we’d want in an Avengers movie - Thor tossing his hammer about, lots of action, and best of all, Hulk breaking stuff. Can Joss Whedon’s film reach the high bar set by last year’s Marvel movies, Captain America and Thor? It’s looking likely, bewildering though the late name change is.
Apparently, the decision was made to avoid the possibility of British cinemagoers muddling up Marvel’s Avengers with the series starring Patrick MacNee. We should therefore warn British readers that this Friday’s Project X isn’t a 1987 movie starring Helen Hunt, Matthew Broderick and some simians.
Avenging Assemblage is out in the UK on the 26th April. Enjoy the trailer.
