The reaction to the Star Trek picture leak, IMAX, and confirmation of who will be scoring the Star Trek sequel…
Production continues on the sequel to JJ Abrams’ Star Trek reboot, as you might have noticed by the leaked photos from the shoot that popped up over the weekend. Said photos seemed to centre on a fight scene between Zachary Quinto and Benedict Cumberbatch, and considering that security on the project has been tight, it was a surprise that the photos were leaked at all.
According to actress Zoe Saldana, who plays Uhura, said leak hadn’t gone down too well. Chatting to MTV, she said that “JJ was very upset. I have to say that. It’s not going to stop people from intruding, but they are, and it’s such a bummer because it only hurts them by stealing away the surprise.”
The picture leak did confirm one piece of news: the presence of an IMAX camera on set. That seems to confirm that some sequences in the new film are set to be specially shot in the format.
Elsewhere with regards the Star Trek sequel, one more thing: Michael Giacchino has confirmed, via his Twitter account, that he will be writing the score to the new film. He will start work on it in January.
We’ll have more news on the secretive Star Trek sequel as we get it….
