Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman

Writer Neil Gaiman’s much-loved graphic novel, The Sandman, could be heading to the small screen soon courtesy of Warner Bros. TV…

Neil Gaiman's revival of Jack Kirby's 70s Sandman series, with its intelligent writing and stunning David McKean artwork, is widely regarded as one of Vertigo's finest publications to date.

And while a big screen adaptation of The Sandman has apparently been trapped in development hell since the late 90s, there are now stories floating around that suggest that the comic could be in the early stages of development for a television series.

According to Heat Vision, Warner Bros. TV is attempting to purchase the rights from DC, and is in talks with writers and producers about its adaptation for the small screen.

The story also mentions Supernatural creator Eric Kripke as being "at the top of the list", though this has yet to be substantiated. More news on a potential Sandman series as we get it.
