Emma Thomas talks Tom Hardy, Christian Bale, Batman, Bane and Catwoman, as she has one or two things to say about The Dark Knight Rises…
The Dark Knight Rises is just over five months away now, and producer Emma Thomas has been nattering briefly to Total Film about what we can expect from the new film.
She’s, inevitably, not giving much away at all. On Tom Hardy, for example, she praised the work that he put into realising the character of Bane. “Tom made a massive physical transformation for the role”, she said. “It really is an intense performance. He finally feels like a match for Batman – both physically and mentally”.
She revealed, too, that “Christian Bale and Tom Hardy are both such fiercely committed actors that pitching them as adversaries works incredibly well”.
Finally, with regards Anne Hathaway’s take on Catwoman, Thomas would only offer that “it’s completely new”, and that “you never quite know where you are with her”.
Like we said, her cards are being played close to her chest, as you'd ecpect. The Dark Knight Rises arrives in July.
