Jack The Giant Killer

Warner Bros has delayed the release of Bryan Singer's Jack The Giant Killer by nine months, and put the brakes on Arthur And Lancelot, too...

Hmmm. Just the other week, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters was taken off this year’s release schedule by Paramount, and knocked back the best part of a year. The film had been due to arrive in March, and is currently set for release in January 2013.

But now there’s an even bigger movie that’s suddenly been yanked back. Bryan Singer’s upcoming Jack The Giant Killer had been scheduled by Warner Bros for release in June, and a trailer and poster had already been released by the studio. However, it’s now been revealed that the film has been delayed, for reasons not yet clear, until March 2013.

You have to feel for Bryan Singer. His last film, Valkyrie, also went through such a release delay before we finally got to see it.

Warner Bros has also removed from its schedule altogether David Dobkin’s movie, Arthur And Lancelot. That was originally set to open in March 2013, but presumably the studio doesn’t want to release it so close to another not dissimilar movie. Also, there are, apparently, budget problems with Arthur And Lancelot, which the studio is keen to work out. Production is being held up until that point.

More on both of these delays, here.
