A new picture from The Dark Knight Rises exposes the batsuit, plus a few more bits on the film, including Christopher Nolan talking about the audibility of Bane...
The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly in the US has revealed one or two new things about Christopher Nolan’s upcoming Batman finale, The Dark Knight Rises, whilst also treating us to a good view of Christian Bale in his refined batsuit.
There are very mild spoilers following these words.
Amongst the details that EW has confirmed are that The Dark Knight Rises will see Batman back in the Batcave (now that Wayne Manor has been rebuilt), and that the new film will deal with the consequences of the ending of The Dark Knight.
Thus, we see Jim Gordon and Batman covering up the wrongs of Harvey Dent, and what happens as a result of that.
The very mild spoilers are gone now.
Christopher Nolan also touches on the fact that people are saying that they can’t hear what Bane is saying, due to the mask on his face (this is based on the prologue, that’s been playing in some cinemas). “I think when people see the film”, said Nolan, “things will come into focus”. He added that “Bane is very complex and very interesting and when people see the finished film, people will be very entertained by him”.
We’ve got six months to wait (and a few days on top) to find out if that’s true. We suspect it might be.
In the meantime, Christian Bale, in the same piece, revealed that playing Batman was a big responsibility. “I can tell you the truth because I'm done with it: I felt immense pressure. And I think it's a good pressure, because you owe it to the films - and the people's expectations - to make great work."
We look forward to seeing the film. And we’re not alone…
