The world needs more people like Peter Jackson.
Some people do basic teaser trailers that show you very little. Some do trailers that just give too much away. Pretty much a full year before we get to see his take on The Hobbit, he’s given us a teaser trailer that’s really quite brilliant, and gets the balance bang on.
It’s long enough so we get a flavour of what’s in store, it introduces characters, it brings us Ian McKellen, and we get to see Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins for the first time. Plus, there’s a tease as to just how visually striking everything is.
Watch it, and then start waiting a year for the first of the two Hobbit films, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. It should be just a little precious (sorry...).
