Want to know who’s up for a gong at this year’s Golden Globe Awards? Here’s the full list of 2011’s nominations…
A nod of recognition. A slap on the back for a job well done. We all like to get them from time to time, and the Golden Globes are but one of the American film industry’s annual celebrations of filmmaking greatness.
And while it’s not always the very best films that get the praise they deserve, it’s refreshing to see some of the nominations for this year’s Golden Globes straying somewhat outside the obvious. Brendan Gleeson is more than deserving of a nod for his sterling performance in The Guard for example, but we didn’t necessarily expect him to get the nomination he did here.
It’s also great to see Rango get a nomination for best animated film, too – if we had any control over the awards next year, it's a feature that would definitely win in that category.
