It looks like Benicio Del Toro is about to get offered the role of the villain in JJ Abrams' Star Trek sequel...
With production due to start in early 2012, it’s perhaps unsurprising that casting rumours have just begun with regards JJ Abrams’ Star Trek sequel. And this one’s a good one, too.
Variety is reporting that the name in mind for the thus-unnamed villain role in whatever the Star Trek sequel turns out to be called is Benicio Del Toro. Del Toro, it reports, is unaware quite the role is yet, but the strong suggestion is that he’s about to be offered the part.
So what do you reckon? Has Del Toro got something a bit Klingon about him? Or does Abrams have a different villain in mind? Perhaps he may yet be a modern day Khan…
