Remember the finale episode of Star Trek: Enterprise, when Jonathan Frakes made a guest appearance? Er, Jonathan Frakes does...

It’s been over half a decade since Star Trek left the small screen, when Enterprise was cancelled. And it doesn’t seem to be bringing back many fond memories for Jonathan Frakes.

Frakes, who played Commander Riker in Star Trek (as well as directing a couple of the Trek movies), popped up in the finale of Enterprise, and seems to regret the decision. He was taking part in a Q&A session at the Central Canada Comic-Con, and he had things to say about the finale, which also featured guest appearances from Marina Sirtis and Brent Spiner.

According to High Def Digest, Frakes said that “Rick Berman, executive producer of all things Star Trek, called Marina and myself and said 'we'd like you to do the last episode of Enterprise' ... They said it would be a Valentine to the fans, but all of it ended up doing I think was hurting Scott Bakula's feelings”.

Frakes went on to say that “I said to Scott, this is weird for me to be on your show and your show is being taken off before it should be taken off. And he was such a gentleman about it, and said "no, glad you're here". So it was awkward on all accounts, except with working with Marina again which is always lovely. But I wasn't crazy about it. And it was so thinly connected, I thought too. Thanks for bringing up such an unpleasant memory".

Blimey.
