Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is the latest to walk away from the remake of The Crow. Is this a project doomed never to happen…?
The attempts to mount a new version of The Crow on the big screen have not been going smoothly. First in line to direct the film was Stephen Norrington, but he departed the project. Then Bradley Cooper was linked with starring in the film, and he was connected with it for some time, before it was confirmed earlier this year that he was making Paradise Lost instead.
And now, the film has lost another director. TwitchFilm is reporting that Juan Carlos Fresnadillo has quit the project, for reasons that aren’t yet clear. What’s also not clear is whether this will knock a final nail in the attempt to bring The Crow back to the big screen.
There’s little sign of the film going before the cameras, certainly, and now it needs a new star and a new director. We’ll keep you posted…
