Fifteenth century hitman simulator Assassin’s Creed returns with Revelations. You can see the lavish new trailer right here…
Hooded tops, running around, murder and baroque architecture – by now, the elements of Ubisoft’s hit Assassin’s Creed franchise are firmly established. Revelations, though, will be the last of the series to feature a Renaissance era setting, and we suspect that developer Ubisoft Montreal will be ensuring that this particular aspect of the franchise will serve as a fitting send-off.
That’s certainly the impression we get from the cinematic trailer below. It may not provide any indication of what the finished gameplay will look like – we’re looking forward to the day when videogames will look as glorious as this – it’s most definitely an effective preview of its icy tone and stylised violence.
We can’t help wondering, though, where the Assassin’s Creed franchise will head next, now that it’s finished with the 15th century. Victorian London? Prohibition-era Chicago? If it were up to us, we’d go for 80s Australia, with the cast of cheesy soaps Home And Away and Neighbours on the assassin’s kill list.
Assassin’s Creed Revelations is out on 15th November for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
